Hi guys, hope you and the people you love are all well and staying safe through all this. Today's blog I will be reviewing a newly released single from the band named 'Cider in a Wine Glass.' Again this band contacted me via Instagram so if anyone reading this is in a band and would like a review I'll leave my link below. 'Cider in a Wine glass' is a new and exciting prospect located at the University of York. The band released their debut single on Spotify on the 2nd April 2020 titled 'Cessation' and it is a quality tune and a definite playlist banger (my own phrase I seem to use all the time).

So consisting of the band we have the drummer James, who is from York, the lead which is Tom from Teeside, Ben the singer/guitarist is from Abingdon, Georgia is the pianist and is from Reading and finally, we have Harry the bassist from Harwich; all very talented by the way. The band formed in November 2019 at the University of York, so very much in the early stages of their careers in the music industry, which is why I was extremely impressed to discover the number of gigs they have performed. York City Church, The Basement, University of York (The Lounge, JJs, and The Vanburgh Arms), so a lot of venues already played which means they must be good. The band have Facebook and Instagram so I will leave their links below for you guys to follow, now on with the review.

The song begins with a nice guitar sound leading into the vocals; the lyrics are very well written and equally very well sung. The lead singer has a very defining voice, which makes the lyrics easy to hear and understand which is essential to any good song. I've always liked bands with 5 members cause it usually means that there is a keyboard/piano player which I've always thought brings a little extra to the whole piece. The song is really well put together, the various instruments bounce off each other very well which creates an overall well-structured sound. In a post by 'The Basement, York' (a music venue in York) they state the following about Cider in a Wine Glass, "support act Cider in a Wine Glass is an indie band gaining recognition for catchy ballads." This statement is very true, it only took me a few listens of the song to begin singing along (I've been singing it all week, my mum is not impressed). The band also have a demo of what I can only assume is another single set for release in the future 'Sand and Dreams' which again is a very well written song. All the members of the band are clearly talented and together have created a very good sound which will take them a long way I recon.

Again thank you guys for reading, make sure to check this band out below, you'll regret it I promise. Make sure to share this blog around as that helps me out. Comment below and stay safe. Peace.
