Hi guys, welcome back to another blog, I hope you are all keeping safe and doing well. Today I will be bringing you a review of a new single from an up and coming artist known as Flight Park North. He has recently been in touch to promote his new single which will be released in the latter part of this year, the single 'Charcoal Portraits' is a carefully crafted and brilliantly produced piece of music which I believe all my viewers will enjoy. Specialising in acoustic guitar Flight Park North brings a fresh and raw sound which we haven't really touched upon in this blog in the past. Currently, I myself have been learning the guitar during my furlough period so have really found it nice to listen to an artist specialising in that area. I am in a special position to have had his single sent to me to review prior to release so I hope I do the song justice in this blog. As always I like to introduce the artist in the words of their own, so I asked the artist a few questions:
Where are you from?
I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah.
How long have you been writing music?
I've been making music legitimately for I'd say, 7 to 8 years.
What has inspired you?
Punk rock, Pop punk, Folk punk and midwest emo.
Where do you want to go with this?
Honestly, I'd love to make music for a living but it's mostly a release for me and if I can help somebody feel not so alone in life that's the main goal.
Great stuff. Now on to this new single 'Charcoal Portraits', the song is brilliant, completely and utterly genius. Possibly the best song that I have discovered through doing this blog. Bringing back the American style we saw during the late 90s and early 2000s which gifted the music industry artists/bands such as Simple Plan and Reel Big Fish etc. An absolute classic style added together with a fairly standard topic (Guy likes girl scenario) in order to create a fairly simple but rather top quality song. With well-written lyrics which focus on a topic that everyone can sympathise with this song is one of those hidden gems that should be in everyone's playlist. The song is instantly catchy, with qwerky little lyrics that hold the whole song together, which are also very well sung; good use of harmonies as well. Very well produced the artist has created a neat little song to be enjoyed by everyone. Give this guy a listen people because he has a catalogue of released songs which are just as good as the one I have had the pleasure to review today.
I hope you enjoyed today's blog and I'll try my best to not leave it too long until the next post. Thank you to the artist Flight Park North for the great opportunity to review music, I'm a big fan. Everyone make sure to check Flight Park North out in the links below, make sure to like and share this blog as it helps me out. Until next time. Peace.
